1.(right) on the money
exactlyright; in exactly the right place; in exactly the right amount (of money). 完全正確;恰到好處;(錢)正好夠數(shù)。
e.g. Youwere right on the money when you said that I would really like that book.
你說(shuō)過(guò)我會(huì)很喜歡那本書,被你說(shuō)中了。
2. comeinto (some) money
to getsome money unexpectedly, usually by inheritance. 得到意外之財(cái),通常是因?yàn)槔^承遺產(chǎn)。
e.g. Shecame into a lot of money when she turned twenty.
她二十歲的時(shí)候得到了一大筆意外之財(cái)。
3. forksome money out (for something)
to pay(perhaps unwillingly) for something. (Often mention is made of the amount ofmoney. See the examples.) 為某物付出錢財(cái)(也許不情愿)。(常會(huì)提到是要一大筆錢??蠢痈惺芤幌拢?/p>

4. funnymoney
1)counterfeit money 假幣
e.g. Thebank teller spotted the funny money in the man's deposit almost immediately.

2)temporary or substitute money, good only in certain places 暫時(shí)流通或代替流通的貨幣,只在特定的地方通用。
e.g. Whatam I going to do with all this funny money when I leave here? It's no goodanywhere else.
我離開(kāi)這里后要怎么處理這些替代貨幣?其他地方都不能用啊。
3)foreign currency 外幣
e.g. Wehad better buy some gifts and get rid of some of this funny money before ourflight. 在起飛前我們最好買一些禮物,花掉些這些外幣。
5. I'dbet money (on it)
I amcertain. 我確定。類似于我們“賭五毛”的感覺(jué)??好吧,其實(shí)也就是“我敢打賭”~
e.g. I'dbet money on it. I'd bet money that Jane will get that job.
我很確信。我敢打賭Jane會(huì)得到那份工作。
6. in themoney
1)wealthy 富有的
e.g. Johnis really in the money. He's worth millions.
John真的很富有。他有百萬(wàn)的財(cái)產(chǎn)呢。
2) in thewinning position in a race or contest. (As if one had won the prize money) 在比賽或競(jìng)賽中處于優(yōu)勝地位。(就好像已經(jīng)獲得了優(yōu)勝獎(jiǎng)金)
e.g. Iknew when Jane came around the final turn that she was in the money.
當(dāng)Jane進(jìn)入到了最后一輪,我就知道她贏定了。
7. heavybread
a greatdeal of money 一大筆錢
e.g. Thatcar cost some heavy bread.
那輛車要花好一些錢呢。
8. moneytalks
Money gives one power and influence to help get thingsdone or get one's own way. 金錢會(huì)賦予人權(quán)利和影響力,能夠幫助事情完成或?yàn)樗麨?。(就是“有錢能使鬼推磨”啦)
e.g.She'll get her way because money talks.
有錢能使鬼推磨,她想做什么都可以。
9. moneyto burn
More thanenough money for what is required or expected. 超出所需或期望的足夠的錢。
e.g.After they paid off the creditors, they still had money to burn.
他們還完債權(quán)人的錢后,仍有用不完的錢。
10. becoining it (British & Australian informal)(英式英語(yǔ)&澳洲英語(yǔ)的非正式說(shuō)法)
to beearning a lot of money quickly 迅速掙到一大筆錢
e.g. Themagazine has been coining it since the new editor took over.
